Yes it's that time of year once again to renew your CBOA membership. Those members currently within our system should have received the renewal via e-mail. The renewal application can also be found on the home page under the "Membership" tab. Please print clearly when submitting your application to avoid computer connection and e-mail problems. Remember our first meeting is September 15th so please submit your application with payment ASAP.

2nd Annual NECMA Education Day & Tradeshow

Last fall the New England Concrete Masonry Association launched the 1st Annual NECMA Education Day & Tradeshow and offered more than 100 architects attending the opportunity to earn up to 4 AIA continuing education hours for an incredibly low registration fee. Also included in the low fee was the opportunity to meet with more than 25 exhibiting companies to discuss concrete masonry and hardscape products and how to enhance design projects with these durable and versatile products.

CODE BOOKS OFFERED AT NEXT CBOA MEETING

CBOA will be offering the new ICC 2009 IRC and IBC at our next regular scheduled meeting for a special deal. The IRC will be available for purchase with a cost of $67.00 and the IBC for only $81.00 with no charge for tax or shipping when paying with a municipal check made out to CBOA. Those paying with a Non-municipal check will have to included sales tax, quantities are limited to 30 of each on a first come first serve basis.

Feedback Requested from Code Officials on OEDM Training and Related Issues

A recently formed subcommittee including members of Building Code Training Coucil and Fire Code Training Council, is looking for feedback on a number of issues regarding training/ continuing education requirements and related topics.
As a member of this subcommittee, I am seeking comments from CBOA members regarding the following issues:

1) Training currently offered by ODEM: what you like, what could use improvement, suggestions regarding future course offerings and other thoughts you may have.
