Building Official, Fran Jasmin, is retiring soon. A gathering to honor his service and celebrate his retirement is on January 27th. Please see the attached for additional information.

Just what we needed another building official on the take,here we are trying to upgrade the status of building officials and guys like that make us all look bad.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, FineHomebuilding.com has a new feature called "Play The Inspector" on their home page. Every few weeks they put on a construction scene with 5 or 6 code or safety problems in the picture. When you click on the correct items you get points, when you miss it takes points away from you. Sounds pretty simple for seasoned inspectors, huh? Even without noise, pesky contractors trying to distract you, etc., sitting at your desk it's still pretty tough to find all the violations.

Please try to correct the problems with the email distribution list as my name has been removed and I have not received meeting notices etc. for approx. 4 months.

I am looking at updating our web page to include a pool section. Does anyone have a good Frequently Asked Question section or handout that works well for you? I know we can't answer every question that residents could possibley come up with, but our current handout is getting somewhat dated and needs to be modified. The Eastern States Building Officials Federation is preparing to offer its’ 60th year of educational opportunities to Code Enforcement Officials, and those who are in related professions dealing with the built environment. This year’s Annual Eastern States Building Officials Federation Conference/School will be held March 29th thru April 1st, 2009 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.

Was looking for our Current Code Book Order form ??

Looking to find what the min. height requirement that would allow a wall that was not
Climbable with access from grade down into a pool area.
And would this height also be good for a deck over hanging a pool area that would not require changes to the guardrail
